Exploring the Village of Stone Pt. 1 Like most villages in the Midlands, Stone [1] is very friendly, picturesque and is steeped in history. Anxious for news from home, my first look around the village [2] came out of my search for an Internet service. In desperation, I even considered enlisting the aid of one of the many pigeons [3] which call Stone their home. My fruitless search had taken me full circle around the village and back to the public library [4] situated on the market square in plain view from our hotel room window. The first thing I saw upon entering the building was a for-hire online [5] computer! Within minutes after the friendly library staff had given me instructions on navigating their computer, I was reading letters from Sue-On. Exhilarated and recharged with news from home, I took a jog along the canal & locks -- stopping only to marvel at the many docked houseboats [6]-- and back through the grounds [9] of Stone Church [8].
