Day 1: Sat ARRIVAL 

Upon arrival at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE),

TPE is an international airport serving the capital city of Taipei and northern Taiwan. Located about 40 km west of Taipei

You will be met and transferred to your accommodation hotel by private car (no guide).
The remainder of the day will be free.

HALF DAY TAIPEI CITY TOUR (B, X, X)
After breakfast, we will take a tour of Taipei city includes the impressive
Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall ~ Wikipedia
This Memorial Hall is a national monument, landmark and tourist attraction in Taipei
erected in memory of Chiang Kai-shek, former President of the Republic of China.

National Palace Museum ~ Wikipedia
A Museum where 8,000 years of Chinese imperial arts and jade collections are exhibited. It  has a permanent collection of nearly 700,000 pieces of ancient Chinese imperial artifacts and artworks, making it one of the largest of its type in the world. The collection encompasses the history of Chinese art from the Neolithic age to the modern. Most of the collection are high quality pieces collected by China's emperors.

Martyrs' Shrine ~ Wikipedia
Martyrs’ Shrine of traditional architecture and change of Honor Guards: The site was originally established as Takao Kotohira Shrine during the Japanese rule of Taiwan in 1910. In 1946 after the handover of Taiwan from Japan to the Republic of China, the shrine was slightly renovated to make it as a martyrs' shrine. The main hall of the shrine assembles a traditional Chinese palace with double-hipped roof which is covered with golden glazed tiles. Sculpture of Gods and auspicious animals are placed on the roof ridge. Its structures are well decorated with colored paintings of Song dynasty characters. Around the shrine are cloisters made of cement and white artificial stones. In front of the shrine are the stairs made of andesite.
 A changing of the honor guard from the various branches of the Republic of China Military, similar to the rituals at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, take place at the shrine.

TAIPEI / SUN MOON LAKE + Natural Hot Spring (B, X, X)

Sun Moon Lake: To be picked up at lobby of hotel in Taipei City, we will drive to Sun Moon Lake which is located in the middle of Taiwan and situated 762 meters above sea level in the lofty mountains of Central Taiwan. The area surrounding the lake has many trails for hiking.  It is the largest body of water in Taiwan. The area around the lake is home to the Thao tribe, one of aboriginal tribes of Taiwan. Sun Moon Lake surrounds a tiny island called Lalu. The east side of the lake resembles a sun while the west side resembles a moon, hence the name.

Tour will stop at the famous
Wenwu Temple, also known as Literature-Warrior Temple
Wenwu Temple is dedicated to Confucius as Master of Pen and to Kuan Ti as Master of Sword, Holy Monk Shrine and Ci En Pagoda.

After touring round Sun Moon Lake, check in hotel.

Check out hotel, passing by the lovely small and old Jiji Railway Station, drive to

Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Monastery ~ Wikipedia
Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Monastery is the most famous Buddhist sacred place of southern Taiwan.
The order promotes Humanistic Buddhism and is known for its efforts in the modernization of Chinese Buddhism.
It is famous for its use of technology and its temples are often furnished with the latest equipment.
Hsing Yun's stated position for Fo Guang Shan is that it is an "amalgam of all Eight Schools of Chinese Buddhism"
Here you will learn about Buddhism during the monastery walking tour to visit
Buddha Memorial Center” and communicate with some of the monks or nuns during the visit,
there will be opportunity to taste  Buddhist vegetarian lunch (at your own cost).
Continuing on we will drive to

Kaohsiung ~ Wikipedia
Kaohsiung is the second largest city of Taiwan.with a population of approximately 2.77 million people and Taiwan's largest municipality by area at 2,951.85 km2  Kaohsiung has grown from a small trading village into the political, economic, transportation, manufacturing, refining, shipbuilding, and industrial center of southern Taiwan. The Port of Kaohsiung is the largest harbor in Taiwa.  The city is also home to the Republic of China Navy fleet headquarters and academy.

Love River ~ Wikipedia
Love River is the spine of Kaohsiung, playing a similar role to the River Thames of London. It is of great cultural significance to the people of Kaohsiung and plays an important role in its economy and tourism. A riverside park, the Love River Park, runs along the riverbank in downtown Kaohsiung City. A night market operates in the park, and there are three outdoor cafés, often with live bands. Boats which hold about fifteen people take tourists up and down the river. The scenery is enhanced by attractive city structures near the river, such as the Holy Rosary Cathedral, Kaohsiung Bridge, and the Kaohsiung District Court. Cultural events such as concerts and the Lantern Festival are often held by the river.

Morning tour to Kenting National Park ~ Wikipedia

Kenting National Park located at Taiwan’s southern tip and the 37 miles of coral-rimmed shoreline along three sides of the park provide its main attractions. It is Taiwan's oldest and southernmost national park, covering the southernmost area of the Taiwan island along Bashi Channel. This national park is well known for its tropical climate and sunshine, scenic mountain and beach, the Spring Scream rock-band festival held in every March, and has long been one of the most popular tourist destinations in Taiwan with 5.84 million visitors in 2016.

Stops will be made at

Maobitou coastal scenic area and Longpan Park and drive to
Taitung City via Southern Link Highway.

Day 6 Thu

TAITUNG / EAST COAST NATIONAL SCENIC AREA / TAROKO (B, X, X)
After breakfast, it will be an exciting East Coast Tour.

The East Coast National Scenic Area, known as "Taiwan's last unspoiled land", stretches 170 kilometers down the east coast of the island.
Weathering, erosion, and accumulation have produced a wide range of landforms here. Our tour will stop at

Xiaoyeliu, Sanxiantai, Shitiping (Stone Steps)

marble factory and showroom.

Late afternoon, we will proceed to Hualien County ~ Hualien City

for overnight stay at

Taroko National Park
Hotel: Silks Place Taroko (5*) or similar



Day 7 Fri 

TAROKO NATIONAL PARK / TAIPEI (B, X, X)
After breakfast, we will make a visit to
Taroko National Park.
Taroko Gorge is an exceptionally beautiful, narrow raving created by the Liwu river which has cut deep into the mountains of solid marble.
A road carved into sheer walls of rock rewinding its way past forested peaks and cliffs towering thousands of feet above it,
while hundreds of feet below a river roars past gigantic marble boulders.


Passing by Tunnel of Nine Turns, Ci Mu Bridge, stops will be made at
Swallow Grotto, and

Changchun Temple (Eternal Spring Shrine).
We will then drive back to Taipei with a

stop at Cingshui Cliff, drive through

Syue-Shan Long Tunnel (12.9 Kms) to arrive at around 6 PM.
