The highlight of this China visit was a return to Sue-On and Kenny's birth home in Toisan. Our Canadian party all gathered at the Nomo hotel near the Guangzhou Airport. Ken Tsai and his two kids, Shaan and Sija, had joined us yesterday and we had taken the Metro for a downtown visit. Ken had also been born in Toisan -- in the village next to the Choys -- so this trip back to the Choy and Tsai roots was eagerly awaited. We were excited that our daughter China-Li was able to join us at the end of the trip she had just taken across northern China. 

We had booked a van and driver via the Internet before we left Canada and we were relieved that he showed up on time and proved to be an excellent driver. The ride to the village passed through some beautiful farmland and built up areas. Since it rained for much of the day our photos didn't do the scenery justice. The highways were excellent and were lined with fruit trees and divided by beautifully maintained hedges and flowering plants. We could have had some beautiful photos of the roadways and surrounding countryside if there had been no rain and the sun had been shining.
