ROAD TO SHANGHAI II
Huangshan City / Tunxi
Hubian Village

www.hillmanweb.com/china2017//shanghai1a.html

The village was built in 2009 to preserve ancient HuiZhou-style architecture from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. We first walked along a high stone wall embossed with artwork from which there were fascinating views of both shores of the river.

We then passed through decorative arches to explore numerous buildings and ancestral halls. We then entered the central square which contained stages, a playhouse and facilities used by celebrations and performing arts. It was late in the day so the businesses and restaurants were closed. There were very few visitors and no performances or celebrations but it was a great time to explore the village's attractions at our leisure.
